Hybrid Photography

A while back I was invited to speak in a Wedding Coordination class at the International School of Hospitality. With me on the panel was a DJ and a musician.  Neither the DJ nor the musician said they could do the other person's job and no one in the room expected them to do so. However, when the questions started to come my way,  the students wanted to know why I wasn't offering both video and still photography.   My response was because I am not a videographer.

So how does one do video and stills at the same time? You hire a second photographer dedicated to stills (or video) and raise your package rates.  Video editing is not cheap either.  Already you've raised your rates and probably priced yourself out of the market.  Quite the conundrum.
